A Critical Lack of Thinking

Several recent examples of stunning lack of critical thinking.

Example 1: Harry Reid said that the private sector was doing well but the government workers are in need of help. Help in his world is more government spending. But he does not realize that it is not government spending... it is private sector spending. The ability to maintain aon/or grow government jobs is more tax revenue...and tax revenue only comes from a growing, healthy private economy.

Example 2: The current "Occupy" is another group that wants more money from the "elite", the "rich", the "enemy". They hate the successes in our economy, but they want their money. They really should "love" the "rich" and the "elite. Only a successful "rich" is going to be able to provide the wants of the Occupy group,

Example #3: Many Mexican immigrants want to annex the Southeast into Mexico. So you want the southeast to look like Mexico, a country that you have fled because you cannot feed your family? Go back to Mexico and make Mexico look like and work more like the USA.

Example #4: An editorial writer in my small town weekly lamented the fact that the legislators proposed to prioritize a large part of the prison system. He lamented that high paying jobs would be laid off and those jobs filled with lower paid prison guards. So our editorial writer wants the taxpayer to continue to overpay so we can "Keep High Paying Jobs". If that thinking taken to it's extreme then lets raise the pay of all public jobs and then we can congratulate ourselves with all the new high paying jobs.

Critical thinking.... think past today!
