What Would Tiger Do

Interesting title, but more on that later.

In selecting a president, perhaps the most important job of any democracy we see so many cheaters, liars and reprobates!

We hear about people "intimidating" voters. We here announcements that Republicans vote on Wednesday. We hear about the Obama campaign disabling the normal checks like requiring a proper name on a credit card donation. It goes on and on.

So the title, What would Tiger Do? Golf is the only sport I know that the players police the action. They call penalties on themselves and others. Would Tiger cheat? I don't think so.

So we are more honest in golf that the most important job we do.

The Roman empire fell. This just contributes to our eventual fall...or just contributes to our evenr increasing fall.

Why do Wrong ideas Sell?

With the democrats or liberals seemingly on the wrong side of every issue, how does it continue to sell?

It all reminds me of the words from that old song from the 70's (?) "It feels so good, it can't be wrong". NOT! Every teenager as he or she grows into adulthood finds that everything that feels good is NOT good! We can all relate to that!

Over the next few posts I will outline the many issues that sound good, but are wrong.

Let's start with the minimum wage. In Joe Biden's acceptance speech he said the John McCain voted 19 times AGAINST raising the minimum wage. How could he be so callus as to be against the poor guy or gal trying to just get by. BECAUSE the minimum wage is NOT about this poor little guy or gal. It is about the many union workers who's wage is hooked to the minimum wage. The minimum wage goes up, his wage goes up.

Many studies have shown that when the minimum wage goes up the poor little guy may get 10 cents more an hour, but many lose their job because the business has to cut expenses.

It sounds good, but is not.

With Obama you must believe in CHANGE!

The slogan is "Change you can believe in". But with Obama you get change... change is mind!

He was for the Washington, DC gun ban... but when the Supreme Court struck down this law, he agreed with that! Change!

This is only the latest change. Stay tuned for more!

President Clinton was right... "A fairy tale".

We are at WAR!

Yes, we are at war, but the war I am referring to is not in Iraq or Afghanistan or the war on terrorism! It is the war between free market capitalism and socialism... and we are losing! At least the Free Market Capitalist are losing!

The Supreme Court issued a ruling saying the 2nd amendment "Is what it is!" But it was a 5-4 vote. One vote more and the Supreme Court would have voided one of our basic rights. It just shows you that the Supreme Court can do what it wants, not just what it is charged to do; "Interpret the Constitution"!

How does this fit into the war? Just this. The Socialists what all rights to belong to the government. The court dissenters said the police, military (government agencies) will protect you and therefore you have no right to do so. Personal responsibility is not on the socialists agenda.

They want to government to provide all for you; schooling, health care and retirement. They want control. Do you want them to control what you learn, how much health care you get or do you really want to depend on Social Security for your retirement?

Well, without a change, that is the direction we are headed! Socialism. Learn to love it!

Boogie Man Politics

To get attention many speakers and advocates have to have a "boogie men" to rail against. One of those "boogie"men is the idea that the government created Aids to do damage to blacks.

Rev. Wright goes back to proven talk... and of course uses the tried and true method, the boogie man of the Aids conspiracy.

But if you examine this statement it is a monumental put down of blacks. The Aids only hits the black community? Only blacks are too dumb to see this? Only blacks use homosexual sex, the quickest way to distribute Aids?

What is Rev. Wright up to.... Reeving up the audience in hopes they don't think!

Not only is Rev. Wright wrong, but he is reprehensible!

And Obama has a huge problem... Why did it take 20 years to think?

A Whole New Ball Game

With the Pennsylvania win, Hillary goes on... the battle continues.

The problem is the process. Both Democrat and Republican processes of selecting candidates have been flawed.

The Republicans choose a quick process, the Democrats a long drawn out process. Both will in the end produce flawed candidates.

The long drawn out process of the Democrats are producing flaws daily in the candidates. The media in the tank for Obama and the Democrats in general are wringing their hands over the knife fight that displays the flaws. So whoever wins, a lightweight with no experience (and, we thought, no baggage!) or a warmed over Clinton who the electorate is really deciding they don't like very much after all.

An McCain goes merrily on.... talking, but hardly anyone is listening, but he is not getting hammered daily. The hammering will come later and all the flaws that never showed up in the quick winner the Republicans ran will become apparent in the general election.

I am sure both parties will seek to change their process in the future. Will it matter, probably no, democracy is messy.

So here we are on the cusp of electing the worst of both possible outcomes. I think we can do matter and here is how: Next Blog Post

BITTERgate

Obama walked into a door a few days ago... it was the word BITTER. Voters in Pennsylvania and the Midwest are BITTER about being "left behind" and all they head for is church and a gun.

Obama, you get what you sow. You and your fellow politicians have sown the seeds of bitterness. Why shouldn't they feel bitter. You have told them that the gas prices are too high because of the mean evil oil companies or Bush and Chaney. You have told them they deserve a high paying job with benefits. You have told them that it is their right to have health care. AND I will give it to you!

All these things you know are not achievable by you! They are achievable by the people and they do not need you. You sow discontent, you so divisiveness, you sow lies.

And you want to be President. How could you?

Our Choices

After what seems like years we are down to three.... John, Barack and Hillary.

That's democracy for you! Not perfect, but it is what it is. Time to make lemonade out of lemons.

How will it work out? It is doing so right now. The Dems have been beating up each other and McCain is given a pass and doing what comes naturally.

First of all the Dems. This train wreck will continue. Why is this a train wreck? Simple... We have two front runners for the nomination that have no difference in policy and both have a very slim resume that would normally get no one elected president. They will continue to try to enhance their slim record and in doing so will continue to embellish, preen and outright lie. It took a comedy show (Saturday Night Live) to goad the media into some responsibility. At least they will make a stab at doing some research... maybe at least "Goggle" a little bit to expose at least an outfight lie.

On the other side, experience will come out, but this "free pass" time will allow us to really view McCain as he is. His problem is the conservatives. This is what is needed. Will the real John McCain stand up. He says "conservative" his actions say "liberal". This time between storms for McCain will reveal the real John.

The Reagan Revolution that was not

The conservative Republicans like to hearken back to the Reagan years... they call it the Reagan Revolution.... it was not a revolution at all... it just seemed like it. After 40 years in the desert a taste of power seemed revolutionary.

No doubt Reagan moved the ball, then Newt Gingrich moved it along more... but then success went to their head and they lost their way.

So they have lost their way, lost the momentum and it is two steps back after one step forward.

Why is this.

It is simple, the conservative message is a tough sell. You say no, YOU have to do it, we will get government out of the way, but it is up to you! This does work, it is successful any time it it is put in practice. This tough message is essentially up against the "Candy Man". The liberals and democrats have the answer, they know what they are going to "Give you". It sounds so good, it is immediate, but it never works.

How many time have you heard that the "savings" we are going to put in place will pay for it! Many times, but it never happens.... but it sounds good and sells! Hillary and Barack are going to "give" us free" healthcare, they are going to pay for it with "savings" and if that does not work, we will tax the rich!

Well, they will tax the rich even if it does work. But savings or taxes it won't work, but it gets votes.

Results do not count in an election, promises trump everything.

Pickin' a President

Somebody said; "Democracy is the worst form of government, but better than all other forms", or something like that.

A presidential election has turned into an object lesson on what is one of the bad parts of a democracy.

We do not have any front runners right now and indeed, the voters might get it right, but our form of govenment does stack the deck.

Look what we have....

Leading the democrats are a young black man with no experience in running anything, little worldy exposure with a message of "Change"
The second leading democrat is again someone with no experience in running anything other that an operation of containing "Bimbo Eruptions". She too exposes "Change". She said she has spent 35 years on "Change". I have yet to hear what she has changed in those 35 years.

On the republican side we have a lifelong senator who has not distinguished himself with any noble cause. He was on the wrong side of free speech with the McCain-Fiengold bill. He was on the wrong side of immigration reform. He too has not run anything other than a senate office.

Another leading republican has just swept Iowa based on his religion, glibness and "we just like him". At least he has run a government, albeit half the size of New York city.

Another has run something, New York City. His main appeal has been to defend us against terrorism, but in his tenure the largest terrorist attack in history was done to his city.

If we do have a legitimate leader of the country it is Romney. Supper successful in private business, taken a disaster in the making Olympics and turned it around to a resounding success. And he has been a successful governor. But, he is a MORMON! Can't have that! And he has run "negative" ads!

Get real folks. Think! The most demanding job in the world, the one with the most responsibility, one that can effect lives around the world... and we get Hillary, Oboma and Huckabee.

Get real, this is important. In a democracy YOU have responsibilty! You will be held accountable for your decision.
